Memory Quilts

Under the direction of the Lord I have been helping families whose loved ones have died and comfort them by making them comforters/quilts out of their T-shirts/pj's. I will post some stories and pictures next time

Grandpa's briefcase

Dear Family,

Today I opened up Grandpa Swenson's brief case and looked through it once again. This was his special family history brief case. It is filled with tons of family history sheets. I forgot that I put my yellow folder in there months ago that has my Grandma Swenson's journal/letters, poems, and a awesome picture of my Grandma Swenson when she was 20 years old. I love these little treasures. I re-read through some of these letters that she sent my parents over 30 years ago.  I will be including them in upcoming posts. I feel very close to my Dad's parents even though they are on the other side of the veil. I have wonderful family on both sides of the veil!

Putting my family treasures online

This is going to be a journey for me. I'm clueless when it comes to the "blogging world." However, it's always good to start somewhere. I have felt driven for the past few years the need to take some family treasures like my great grandparents letters and put them in the digital world. So hopefully soon, once I get my scanner up and running I will scan the letters and also do transcripts of them as well.
This is a site where all my family, distant cousins and others can come to see our family history. A lot of us have different parts of the family story, different heirlooms and such. I want this to be a place where I can share my family roots with others starting with my siblings and extended family. I am choosing to have this public for others to get ideas for how they can share their family treasures with others and to get ideas from others as well. Until next time, Sally D.
